My practice centres around the portrayal of the female body, focusing on the areas that women have been encouraged to dislike about themselves. In this way, I look at framing the body to look at it from a different perspective; one that has not been clouded by Photoshopped imagery or influence from the mainstream media.
My imagery aims to challenge the stigma surrounding the stereotypes and body standards women are judged against by portraying them in a celebratory light and experimenting with character design. My practice includes both fine liner and digital art that celebrates the diversity of women.
I have an interest in the reconstruction of women as enigmatic, sometimes ethereal, characters that appeal to the female gaze. There is often an undertone of witch craft and the occult in my work as I enjoy exploring the blurred lines between reality and spirituality.
